Lamberti
Tasteful ambience
Münster has been a diocese since 800 AD. What better reason to name one of our apartments after St. Lambert, or St. Lamberti, the church on the north side of the Prinzipalmarkt, and to add touches of purple, the color worn by bishops? In addition to a kitchenette, “Lamberti” has an eating area with seating for up to four people and a living room with a desk, chair, and sofa bed. The open sleeping area features a comfortable double bed and a large closet. The modern bathroom has a toilet and a floor-level shower. The apartment is accessed via a separate entrance on the patio, which also has seating for three people.A heavenly feast
You can easily spend an entire day in Münster’s churches. Evening serenade
St. Lambert – the church on Münster’s market square
Three cages hang from its tower, lights burning inside them in the evening. The “Drei Irrlichter” (Three Will-o’-the-Wisps) project, an art installation by Lothar Baumgarten, recalls the three leaders of the Anabaptist rebellion in Münster who were executed in the 15th and 16th century. St. Lambert is also home to Martje Thalmann, the towerkeeper. Martje took on the role in 2014. Every night (apart from Tuesdays) she “toots” the tower horn every hour and half-hour from 9 pm to midnight. Definitely worth a visit!
